Black Friday Samsung 32-inch TV Deals: 720p LED HDTV for $189.95, 1080p for $227.99

By Chris Boylan

We're going to see some super-cheap 32-inch TVs deals this holiday shopping season, emphasis on the word "cheap." Hint: if it's a brand you've never heard of before Black Friday, you might want to stay away from it. But Black Friday and Cyber Monday are also days where high quality name brand sets are available at great prices, particularly if you're willing to pick up (brand new) leftovers from model years' past. Hey, it's the day after Thanksgiving, so leftovers are on many people's menus.

Frankly, there haven't been too many major advances in LED/LCD picture technology in the past couple of years, particularly in the smaller entry-level sets. So a great deal on a 2012 or 2013 32-inch set from a name brand, like, for example Samsung, can be an excellent choice for those looking for Black Friday TV deals.

Right now, a few Black Friday deals have gone live early on Amazon on 32-inch LED TVs. The 720p model UN32EH4003 was originally released in 2012 and is now available for about half its original price: It's currently $189.95 with free shipping. It's a 60 Hz TV so it won't handle fast moving content like sports or video games as well as a 120 Hz TV, but it's still an excellent value for under $200. Here's the link:

Samsung's UN32EH4003 720p LED TV would make a great choice for a bedroom.

For a step-up in quality to full HD 1080p resolution, the UN32EH5000 (also from 2012) is available for a similarly low price of $227.99. This one is also a 60 Hz panel, but it uses Samsung's backlight blinking technology called "ClearMotion" to give it the effective performance of a 120 Hz panel. Here's the link for that one:

If you're buying this for a gamer or someone who appreciates high def quality and will be viewing the picture from pretty close up, we'd recommend the 1080p model as the extra detail will be obvious and the ClearMotion 120 feature will make games and sports look much clearer. It's got a 4.5 out of 5 rating by actual customers on Amazon so you know it's a strong performer. But if this is a secondary set for a bedroom or guest room, the 720p model is still high definition and will look just fine from across the room.

If you're willing to pony up a few extra bucks, you can get the newer (2013) 1080p model - the UN32H5203 - for only $20 more ($247.99). This one is also a 1080p panel, but adds Smart TV features like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and more built-in.  Performance-wise, this one is similar to the EH5000 with a 60 Hz panel with a Clear Motion rate of 120 so it will do a nice job for gaming and watching sports. Here's the link:

And if you're hankering for something just a bit larger, then you can bump it up to the 40-inch model (UN40H5203) for only $80 more.

All the sets are covered by Amazon's low price guarantee and 30-day return policy, and all include free shipping.
