3D TV Bundle Deal: Panasonic 50-inch TC-P50VT25: $1856.24 with Free Blu-ray 3D Player, Avatar 3D and Glasses

By Rachel Cericola

It can be daunting starting a 3D TV setup from scratch. You don't just need a new 3D-enabled HDTV, but other add-ons, including a Blu-ray 3D player, 3-D glasses, and even content. You could scramble to piece the items together one at a time or go to Amazon for a nice package deal that will have you viewing 3D TV in a matter of minutes (once you get the goods delivered, that is).

For a limited time, Amazon is packaging up Panasonic's 50-inch TC-P50VT25 Plasma HDTV, with the DMP-BDT100 Blu-ray 3D Player, and the Avatar 3D Starter Kit, all for under $1900 (currently $1856.24). That's right; your first experience with at-home 3D TV can actually be the biggest movie ever made, and at a price that won't break the bank. Find out more about Amazon's bundle offer here:

Note: Amazon adjusts pricing multiple times per day, but this was the current total bundle price at the time of this posting.  Check Amazon for exact price and view total in your shopping cart before completing your purchase.  Be sure to add one of each qualifying product to your cart (TV, player and starter kit) in order to get the bundle price.

The TC-P50VT25 50-inch VIERA HDTV is Panasonic's top of the line Full HD 1080p Plasma HDTV.  It provides a sharp detailed 1080p image in 2D or 3D mode, as well as ultra-clear moving pictures courtesy of its 600Hz Sub-Field Drive. It also has THX certification, meaning this set can reproduce images the way that the filmmakers intended, without as much of a need for professional calibration. The set also includes VIERA Link and VIERA Image Viewer features, as well as VIERA Cast content from Netflix, Pandora, Amazon, YouTube, and other providers.

Add in Panasonic's TY-CC10 camera, and you can use this 50-incher to make a high definition video call to friends and family from your living troom on Christmas morning, via Skype. It's also very easy to network this HDTV, via its built-in network port. You can also add on WiFi networking via an optional WiFi/USB adapter (the DY-WL10).  Find out more about the TC-P50VT25 on Amazon's product page:

Another interesting feature is not on this TV, but in the box. It comes with ONE pair of 3D glasses, which means there could be a brawl over who gets to watch movies and TV shows in 3D. Luckily you can solve this problem if you take advantage of the Amazon 3D bundle offer as you will get not just one but two extra pairs of 3D glasses (these ones rechargeable) in the Ultimate 3D starter kit, along with the Blu-ray 3D Disc of Avatar.  Find out more about the kit here:

Check your shopping cart for the $400 discount before you complete your purchase.
To play Avatar, and other Blu-ray discs - both 2D and 3D - you will need a compatible player. As part of this bundle, you will receive Panasonic's DMP-BDT100. This player can do Blu-ray 3D discs, as well as all of your existing Blu-rays, DVDs and CDs. It also supports both VIERA Link and VIERA Cast content - with VUDU movies on demand recently added, joining the existing suite of services such as Netflix, Amazon VOD, YouTube and Pandora. The player usually lists for $249.95, but you can find it for cheaper on Amazon.  Of course, if you get it as part of the dbundle, you'll get the best deal as the $400 instant credit appears in your cart to offset the price of the player and the starter kit. You can read more about the player in Geoff Morrion's review of Panasonic's DMP-BDT100. You can also check Amazon's product page for additional details:

To get the bundle, you need to purchase everything directly from Amazon, and not one of its third-party vendors. Add each item into your shopping cart from the main offer page and you will see that savings reflected before checkout. Act now because this offer is only good through January 1, 2011 or whenever Amazon runs out of stock!
